Gina K Designs – February Inspiration Blog Hop – Day One

The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous blog hop celebrating the new stamp release for February by our illustrator team! We hope to inspire you with some beautiful card projects as you hop along to each of the designer’s blogs! Today, we are featuring the stamp sets by Melanie Muenchinger and Theresa Momber.

These stamp sets are so fun and versatile! You will be able to create amazing card projects using each individual set or by combining the images and sentiments from multiple sets from this release. Have fun and be creative!

Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $20 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop. Ready for some inspiration? Here are a few of the projects I have created for today’s hop:

I tried to really go out of my box with Melanie's Fabulous Flowers set for this little friendship project.  I've been dabbling with acrylic paint and mixed media lately, trying to get my toes wet.   And even though it's messy?  I'm really enjoying it.

For this project, I used a small 4" x 4" canvas wrapped frame to create a little birthday gift.  I gessoed and painted the canvas.  Then used Versafine ink to stamp my flowers and vases on white tissue paper.  I tore the images out, then added them to my canvas with multi-matte medium.  When dry, I painted over the top with acrylic paints.

This card is much more my typical style.  I just think these bouquets of flowers are so adorable, and how can you resist the bright colors of red and yellow together!  I used the ombre technique of inking the large bloom with Red Hot and Cherry Red.

Theresa Momber's new Framescape - Simply Spring set is just lovely.  It really does all the work for you!  For this card I stamped in Versafine ink on watercolor paper and just swiped little hints of color across the frame!  I used a Zig Marker to add the little dots of a field of flowers, then stamped the sentiment and the dog.  How simple is THAT?

And her "additional" images in the Framescape set are just wonderfully detailed on their own!  Look at the detail in the hot air balloons!  How simple is this for a masculine birthday card?

  13. Love the bouquet of flowers card and the card with the dog. I'm dabbling in mixed media, too, and loving it. I like messy experimentation. I've come up with some of my best ideas doing that. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, but always fun.

  34. Wonderful cards! The last two could be for anyone, for many occasions just change the sentiment. Your vase card has great adds for depth. The canvas is WOW! Thank you for stating the technique of stamping on tissue then adding to the canvass with medium! I have attempted to stamp directly on canvas with poor results! So thank you for that tip! TYFS!!!
