Using your background stamps with die cuts

Hello!!  Hope you are having a fabulous day!

Today I am sharing a holiday card using one of the new Technique Junkies November Release stamps, Linen Dots.  (By the way, today is the last day to save 15% on these new November stamps!)

Only today, I chose not to use Linen Dots as a background, but as my focal image instead.

I had a wide striped background panel that I had created with acrylic paint.  I decided to used Versamark ink and white embossing powder to heat embossed the Linen Dot background right over the top.  I loved the frosted look that came with it, so I decided to create an ornament.  I die cut using a stitched circle die, then coated the whole thing with a spray adhesive and coated it with Nuvo glitter.  I added a bright satin bow and set about creating a place to hang it.

Using a panel of Fabriano Artistico cold press watercolor paper and Gansai Tambi watercolors, I quickly did a wet on wet background.  I used my heat gun to dry it, then added more paint with a small brush, loosely sketched in a pine branch.  When my panel was fully dry, I stamped the one of the beautiful greetings from Gifts of Christmas first in black Memento ink, then overstamping with Versamark ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder to give a raised shiny surface.

I then attached my panel to a card base and adhered the Linen Dot ornament for a simple holiday card.
