Valentine's Day is one of my favorite occasions to create for, and I have lots of projects to share with you today, so let's get started!

All of the new stamps you'll be seeing on in the hop are available right now at www.iostamps.com.

This Doggy Heart was stamped with Memento ink on Hammermill Digital Color Copy Cover paper and colored with Copic markers.  I used both a stitched circle die and a plain circle die to cut and layer the focal image.  The My Valentine greeting was stamped directly on my top fold card base with coordination dye ink using my MISTI, then restamped with Versamark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

This friendship card was created by stamping this Golden (E7902) with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto Fabriano Artistico cold press watercolor paper.  I used Daniel Smith watercolors to paint, painting in just a hint of shoulder and chest.  The Me So Lucky (C14711) sentiment was added with a paper bag color ink, and overstamped with Versamark  ink and clear embossed to add a bit of extra shine and texture.

Very similarly I also used Daniel Smith watercolors to paint this Boston Terrier (F7901).  This time however, I stamped with india ink on Canson Montval watercolor paper.  The Canson paper is not quite as white as the Fabriano, so my small P.S. I Love You (B14700) sentiment strip that I added to my watercolor panel looks a bit starker.  The heart painted in the background was hand painted.

I went back to Copic Markers to color this floppy-eared Beagle (E7900).  I used Hammermill Digital Color Copy Cover paper once again, and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I hand trimmed out my image with scissors.  Using a white top fold card base, I stamped a simple background of Dangling Hearts (F14714), and added the Hugs and Kisses (D20408) greeting with a peachy pink dye ink before adding my Beagle.  I let the Beagle's floppy ears hang off the front of my card.

Now this was an experiment.  I attempted to turn this Golden (E7902) into a Black Lab.  Once again I stamped in Memento on Hammermill paper.  I used a combo of cool and warm gray Copic Markers, as well as a bit of lavender Copic underlayer to try to create a shiny black fur.  I used a 70% and 90% cold gray as well as a black Prismacolor pencil over my Copic coloring to add detail and texture to the fur.  Once I had finished coloring, I stamped and masked my dog with Mask-it clear film, before stamping the Free Spirit Dot background stamp with pale pink ink.  I used my MISTI to add the P. S. I Love You (B14700) by repeat stamping and layering ink colors just a bit at a time, so that the lower portion of my greeting was darker.

Now lest you think my blog post for the day has completely gone to the dogs, I have one last card to share with you today:  here are a couple of Love Cats.

This Love Cats card was created in pieces.  I created the background using a mask.  I die cut a circle from a piece of copy paper, and used the negative piece to mask my light blue top fold card base; adding Distress Oxide ink with a sponge blending tool inside the open circle to create my moon.  I let that ink dry completely before stamping the Tree Line over the top with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink.  I also used Black Soot oxide ink and a brick work stencil to create the brick wall on a pale gray cardstock.  I used silver embossing powder to heat emboss my In My Life greeting over the bricks.  My Love Cats were stamped separately on gray cardstock in Versafine Ink, and heat embossed using black embossing powder.  I then carefully trimmed them out using a craft knife and scissors before adhering them to my card.

Thanks for visiting today.  Please enjoy all the new Impressions Obsession Spring Valentine Inspiration from the rest of the team and comment for a chance to win one of the Gift Certificate prizes.  Your next stop should be Daniela Dobson.
