Today I am sharing cards created with a variety of Crackerbox/Suzy Stamps. The shark card posted above uses Clyde the Shark, an adorable red rubber cling mounted line image stamp that is perfect for coloring. I stamped the Clyde onto a small piece of 100# Hammermill Digital Color Copy Cover using my original Misti and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I then colored with Copic markers, added highlights, with a white gel pen, and fussy cut the image.
I coated the whole image with Nuvo Crystal Glaze, using a straight pin to pop any bubbles in the glaze medium and carefully set it aside to dry overnight.
Here is the image once dry.
The glaze appears a bit cloudy at application, but dries to a thick clear, glossy surface and gives a shiny wet look to my shark.
To create my card, I first used a piece of 2" Post-it tape to mask off the horizon line of the water, and sponged on Broken China Distress Ink below the tape to create the ocean. I then tore the Post-it tape and used the ragged edge as a mask to create a faint hint of a shoreline at the top of the water line. I used the same piece of tape and moved it randomly to the sky, and without re-inking my foam blending pad sponged just a hint of clouds into the sky.
I then used just a small corner of the Clarity Bubbles Stencil and Nuvo Sugar Glitter Paste mixed with a drop of Broken China Distress ink to add bubbles, or water droplets to the lower left corner of my card front. This adds additional texture to my card panel as well.
I then trimmed my card panel down to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4", cut a black cardstock mat 3 3/4" x 5" and assembled my pieces using liquid glue to a navy card base.
Once I had assembled my card, I now needed to add my Hello greeting. Once I had placed my Hello stamp into my MISTI, I stamped with Broken China Distress Oxide ink. Leaving my stamp in place, using a small foam dauber, I added a bit of Faded Jeans oxide ink to the lower half of the stamp and stamped again, inking over the previous Broken China. I then added Mermaid Lagoon ink to the lower 1/3 of the stamp and restamped again. Finally I added Blueprint Sketch ink to the very bottom of the stamp and stamped yet once more, creating that ombre look to my greeting.
I used Distress Oxides to create the background for this card using the Flying Fairy and World of Reality stamps.
I first prepped my smooth heavyweight white cardstock panel by brushing it with a embossing posder tool. I then stamped my Flying Fairy onto a piece of using my MISTI and Embossing ink, and applied black embossing powder and melting it with my heat tool.
Then, carefully avoiding the fairy's wings, I used a round foam blender to apply layers of Distress Oxide, working my way in from the sides of the panel, I sponged in Squeezed Lemonade, then Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, Wilted Violet and then finally Black Soot to create a dramatic and color rich background.
I then very liberally prepped the inked panel with my powder tool, and stamped the World of Reality sentiment in embossing ink and heat embossed it in black. I trimmed the panel to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4", cut a black cardstock mat 3 3/4" x 5" and assembled my pieces using liquid glue to a pale tangerine base.
I used a tissue to remove any residual ink from my embossed fairy, then added Nuvo Sugar Glitter Paste using a small silicone stylus to the wings and the tip of the wand.
