Hosting this week's Stamp TV Mix It Up Monday challenge!

Hi Everyone!

This week I am hosting the MIUM (Mix It Up Monday) Challenge at Stamp TV.

My challenge for the week is called,   "Leaf Me Alone".

I love to color, and florals are a big favorite of mine to color, but it seems I often overlook, or skimp on the foliage or greenery that can come along with some of the florals.   So... for my challenge week I have chosen to focus on some of the sometimes over looked stamps in my collection:  the leaves.

This week, I am challenging you to create a project that utilizes leaves as a background paper for your card.  You may also incorporate a focal image, but your patterned paper background must consist of leaves.

The challenge and link up can be found HERE at the StampTV site.

For my example, I have used a Holiday theme, using the cluster of holly leaves from Festive Foliage to create an emboss-resist background paper.

I used my MISTI to first stamp the leaves in Kraft ink then I overstamped each cluster with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then sponged more Kraft ink around each cluster and along the edges of my panel.

I chose to create a frame inlay with Red Velvet paper.  I created a frame using two sizes of rectangle dies, to cut from both my stamped panel, as well as Red Velvet cardstock, then inlaying the red frame within my panel pieces.

For my focal image, I chose to add a bright watercolored cardinal from Peace and Joy.  The holly branch ties my theme together.  And the vertical JOY sentiment added in the upper left balances my image.

Now it's your turn!

Here are the official rules:

But remember, you must enter your project at StampTV and tag your photo with the tag: STV17MON33.  There's a $20 gift certificate up for grabs for this week's challenge winner!
