Welcome to the IOStamps 2017 Fall/Winter Die Release Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Impression Obsession 2017 Fall/Winter Die Hop!
We have some very fun new dies to share AND Gift Certificates to give away!

The Blog Hop will be posted on the Impression Obsession Blog at 6am EST each day Monday, September 11th – Wednesday September 13th.

Visit the fabulous IO Design Team’s blogs (only one comment per blog per day please) for a chance to win one of FOUR $25 Gift Certificates! One winner will be chosen each day and then an extra winner will be chosen randomly from all hop days.
Comments on all hop days will be open until September 17th at 9pm CT.

All winners will be announced on September 18th.  The more blogs you visit and comment on… the better chance you will have to win!!!  These new dies are thin steel dies that cut paper, cardstock, cork, thin wood, or felt beautifully in your die cutting machines.  They are fabulous.  Click HERE to see the entire new release die collection.

At holiday time, one of our favorite things to do as a family is to drop a small secret gift card into the cart of unsuspecting grocery shoppers.  I love the idea of being a secret silent Santa, and sometimes get a glimpse of them choosing a treat for themselves or their kids that might not have been on the shopping list for the day.

So today I'm featuring the new Gift Card Pocket and Gift Card Foldover dies.  These are very unique products that contain three separate dies; the large pocket or foldover die and as well as two mix and match decorative word element dies that can be used in multiple ways.  I will be making good use of these dies this season as I up my Secret Santa game!

Gift Card Pocket

Gift Card Foldover

Gift Card Pocket (DIE604-XX),  Gift Card Foldover (DIE 603-YY),
Pine Branch Die (DIE 021-N), Season to Sparkle (WP792), Merry Christmas (D13606)

For this gift card pocket, I began with an A2 sized piece of sturdy double sided patterned paper.  I first die cut the Season's Greetings rectangle from the top center of the paper.  I then placed the gift card holder die so that one side was centered over the word die cut, and ran it through my Big Shot.  The die is designed so that it embosses the folding lines into the paper.  Before folding and assembling however, I decided to make a faux shaker.  I adhered a piece of window plastic behind the words using 1/8" Scor-tape, then behind that, added a piece of navy cardstock that I had adhered tiny silver star confetti to.  I then used my Scor-pal to give those embossed folding lines an extra crease, then folded them.   I love that the edges have two fold lines, so the folded holder is 1/8" thick.  I makes it very easy to slide the gift card in and out even when encased with the foldover.   I applied Scor-tape to the folding tabs and closed up my pocket.  I added then a Pine Branch Die cut to the front of the pocket.

I cut the Gift Card Foldover from a piece of coordinating pink shimmer card stock.  Again the folding line is slightly embossed into the cardstock from the die.  The die cuts the two small slits in the corners which will hold the gift card.   Since the front of the foldover holds the gift card, I chose to heat emboss the To/From from Season to Sparkle (WP792) and the Merry Christmas sentiment (D13606) to the inside of the foldover with silver embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Please continue on to the rest of the team blogs.  I have added the whole list here for your convenience.
