More Holidays with Technique Junkies September Stamps

Hey there!  Today I am sharing a few more of my cards created with the September Release Technique Junkies stamps.  September brought lots of amazing new holiday images and sentiments to the TJ lineup.  I hope you've had a chance to shop them!  If not, here's a quick link to the September lineup:   CLICK HERE

This first card uses Ranger glossy paper and foam ink sponges to ink in the background for Santa in Moonlight.

I uses a circle punch to create a mask from an A2 sized piece of card stock.  I saved both the positive and negative pieces to use to create my background.  First, I used the negative piece.  I used Gina K inks, (Lemon Drop and Moonlit Fog and inked up the circle for the moon.  Then I used a small makeup brush and lightly brushed in Gina K white pigment ink, to soften the ink colors.  I removed the mask and brushed a little white pigment ink around the edge of the moon to create a soft hazy glow.  Next I used the positive of that circle die.  I used a bit of temporary adhesive to hold the die cut in place, protecting the moon.

I used foam blenders and pulled in my ink colors, Blue Denim. In the Navy and Black Onyx.  I worked from the edges, pulling the ink across the glossy paper toward the moon.  The area where the hazy white pigment ink is, turns a thin ethereal blue.  I let my card panel dry overnight, to ensure my pigment ink was fully dry and set.

The following day, I added my Santa with Versamark ink and black embossing powder.  I also added the sentiment strip with the Good Night greeting, and added tiny dots of Copic Opaque White for a few stars in my sky.  I let the panel dry, then trimmed it and adhered it to a pale yellow card base.

This card uses the elegant sentiment from Gifts of Christmas and the Holly Bird image.  Both are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a 4 3/4 x 6 3/4" piece of Hammermill 80# Digital Color Cover paper.  I colored the image with Copic markers and added it to a bright red card base for a simple holiday card.
