Coloring with Foam Daubers and my MISTI

Hi everyone.  I went to a craft store last Saturday with a couple of good friends.  I saw this gorgeous Penny Black Dancing Daisies stamp and had it in my hand to purchase, and one told me I could only buy it if I used it within one week.  Apparently she thinks I have enough stamps.  So after a fun day of antique shopping with my husband, I had to squeeze this card in just under the wire.  Just to prove to her I DID use it within a week! LOL

This is one large stamp, so I wanted to add color using inks and my original MISTI.  I started by using a small foam dauber to add ink to areas of the stamp.  I'm using my Versafine Clair inks,  and started with Cheerful.

I then added a bit of Golden Meadow ink to create a bit of shadow. 

Next I added Verdant in on the stems and leaves.

I added Acorn to the flower centers.

And added Shady Lane ink to create a bit of shadow areas on the leaves.

I added a bit of Summertime ink to the left side of the flowers.

I felt I needed a bit more detail, so I also brushed it a bit more ink using a very small makeup brush, adding more shadow in areas of the stems and leaves.

And used a bit more Cheerful ink to blend into the shadowed areas and into the Summertime orange tone as well.

I added a little highlight to the flower centers with Gina K. Designs White Pigment ink.

And decided to brush in a bit more of the orangey Summertime ink to give a bit more definition to some of the flower petals.

I heat embossed the Thank You greeting from Brutus Monroe's Super Sentimental stamp set using Wow!'s Chocolate Caramel Pearl embossing powder.

I then used the pinked edge die from Concord and 9th's Confetti Card die set to trim out my panel and adhered it to an orange top fold A2 card base.
