Now, let's get on to the projects I have to share with you today!

This Special Delivery uses the stamp set by the same name, Special Delivery, and it is the sweetest little mouse image designed by Lisa Glanz.

I have used my Original MISTI to stamp this little mouse onto Artist's Choice cardstock using  Black Amalgam ink.

I began coloring with metal pail using Copic Markers C0, C4, and C6.

I colored the mouse with E70, E71 and E74, and added E000 to the inside of the ear and to the tail and feet and hands.

Oops!!  Good lesson!!  I guess before you set your marker caps on your project you should probably check to see if your the marker caps are clean first.  LOL

Oh well.  It's a new design opportunity, right?  My card design has just changed from a one layer card to one with a matted focal image.

I added BG000 to the flag and E81 to the label on the pail.

I added a bit of color to a few of the flowers with RV11 an Y32.  I will add the smaller details with Prismacolor pencils.

I added a little deeper color to the flowers, a few different greens to the leaves, and a bit of texture to the mouse's fur with pencils.

I've used an oval die to cut out my mouse image, (and thereby cutting away my ink spots that were left by my marker caps).  I also cut a coordinating yellow scalloped oval mat.  I've lined up the two pieces, and used a ruler to draw a faint level horizon line with a pale warm gray pencil.  I want to create a light "ground" to anchor my mouse image.  I didn't want him floating in space!

I've very lightly colored the ground with french grays.
Then I assembled my card using a blue gingham patterned paper, cut at on the diagonal, and adhered the pieces with liquid adhesive.

This simple Christmas card was created with the kit,  A Time for Peace.  This stamp kit, designed by  Tierra Jackson, is a simple one to paint and would be a fun one to easily mass produce for  Christmas cards.
To create my watercolored panel, I stamped the image and the sentiment simultaneously using my with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto Canson Montval watercolor paper, and used Distress inks to watercolor the image.  I just smooshed a little ink directly from my ink cubes onto my craft mat, then used a wet paint brush to pick up the ink and transfer it to my image.  Once dry, I used a stitched rectangle die to cut my panel down to size, cut a coordinating lilac mat, and mounted the matted panel to an A2 top folding white card base using 3M foam tape.

My final card today uses the new kit, Warm & Cozy Season.  This winter themed kit contains a warmly dressed Angie Girl, designed by Angie Blom.  Angie Blom has many, many faceless girl images that I love to color and this one is no exception.

I love these images and enjoy coloring the beautifully rendered hair, and clothing; but I especially love the blank canvas that allows me the challenge of designing and adding a face to these girls.

Faces can be quite difficult to render to a line image stamp.  The shape and dimension of realistic faces are not created with sharp lines, but instead are created with color and shadows.  In the video below, I share and explain my process for adding a face to this image and how I created the easy fur textured collar of her jacket.

I hope you enjoyed the video and today's hop!

  6. Chris, you have mad coloring skills! I love the face! You’ve inspired me to give it a try - nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? The Warm & Cozy Season is possibly my favorite of the new release Unity Stamps and is going on my wish list!. I’m a novice stamper and would probably never have any card be presentable without my Misti - it’s an invaluable tool! Thanks for all the tips and for sharing your talents with us all!
