MISSION: DE-STASH

A few weeks ago, I read Lydia's, Understand Blue blog, where she wrote about her major de-stashing project in her craft room.

I told her it made me cry a little.

But one of the things she mentioned that resonated, was that she had been holding on all that stuff over guilt.

That stuck with me.  I've always KNOWN that I have stuff I should get rid of, because I'm just not using anymore, or just have no interest in using at all.  I've been pondering that guilt and the prospect of a purge ever since.

I've been a Papertrey Ink addict since early 2008.   ADDICT.  I loved their stamps, their blogs...  and I'd get sucked in every. stinkin. time!   I'm always known what I like to create...  there are certain styles that I just don't enjoy doing.  But that's not to say I don't love the results when other people do them.

So each month, I would buy something that deep down I "knew" wasn't really my thing, because I loved what someone else had done with it.   And, I hoped that if I only had "THAT THING", that perfect thing...  surely I would become good at "shabby-chic", grunge, mix and match-y die cutting, using felt... insert whatever style here.  And of course I also expected that the ambition and talent to do those things would come certainly come in the the mail, too.

But it didn't.  But I kept all these things anyway.  For later.  Just in case.  Maybe I would try it again, right?

Nope.

So welcome to my de-stash.  It's time.  MORE than time.   I am freeing myself from guilt and freeing up some valuable real estate in my bins and on my desk for the things I do love to use.
