So Suzy Stamps April Release!!

Hello everyone!  I've been a little busy with family things this past week and haven't been posting much lately.   I hope you all had a fabulous Easter weekend, and enjoyed a wonderful weekend filled with family and food!  We sure did.

Today is April 1st, and that means Release Day at So Suzy Stamps!   And this release is all about spring!!

Unfortunately, due to some unavoidable delays, Suzanne didn't receive her stamp order in time to allow shipping for her Design Team to find them in our mailboxes before the release, so I am improvising, or maybe it's called cheating, (with permission, of course), today with my release post.

We as design team members have access to her stamp print proofs early on in the month prior, so I was able to choose this image, Blowing Flower Tree, to use today.

Since I didn't have the actual stamp, I resized and printed the proof image, then foiled it with my Minc using Minc Teal reactive foil.  I then trimmed my foiled image panel to 4" x 5 1/2'.

I then hand cut some wavy masks out of 1" Post-It Tape and adhered them to my panel.  I used these masks to sponge in some areas of color using Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks and a sponge blending tool.

I moved the masks to create the different areas of color.  I wanted to echo the breezy feel of the main image in the ground and the sky.

Once my ink was dry, I used my MISTI to add the Spring Time Hugs sentiment.

I then glued my panel to a darker teal card base.  I then added the dots of color to the center of the swirling flowers with Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I love these Crystal Drops.  You just squeeze out a drop of the thick liquid and let it dry.  It takes a few hours to dry, but you end up with these amazing enamel dots!

Here is the finished card:

Make sure you check out the new release at So Suzy Stamps today.  I can't wait to actually stamp the new florals!

In other general life news...  I have my lovely six pound assistant with me today, as I write this blog post.  He's been hanging out with nana a few days this week.  He's been a hungry little pooping machine today, and of course just when I try to put him to work, what happens??

He falls asleep on the job.  LOL

I love him so.

I can't wait until his brother can come hang out with us in my craft room, too.  Hopefully he will be home from the hospital soon.  He's so close!  Really close to being released.  Maybe even today or tomorrow!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.  I'm taking a couple days off to celebrate my niece's wedding this weekend.  It will be fun!

Until next time!
